We were thrilled to be invited to celebrate the 90th birthday of our life member, Don Edwards, today!
Not one to sit back and relax on his special day, Don told a story or two, sat in with the tenor horn section for some songs, ably conducted Waltzing Matilda and led a rousing rendition of ‘Part of My Heart In Wonthaggi”.
Happy birthday, Don, from all of your friends at the Wonthaggi Citizens’ Band!

The above video features photos from our 2019 Our Annual Concert, the music is our 2019 National C grade winning performance of the hymn, I Know Thou Art Mine, by Leonard Ballantine.
Wonthaggi Citizens’ Band 2019 Australian National Champions!
We have successfully defended our national championship this year in Brisbane!
Not just defended it, but took out every section again! We are so proud and happy right now. Exhausted as well!
Thank you to ALL of our wonderful supporters who keep believing in us and encourage us all the way. We could not have done this without the tremendous support from our local community who supported our fundraising efforts to help make this dream a reality.
Special mention also to our sponsors The Wonthaggi Club and LJ Hooker Wonthaggi of whom we could not have made the trip without their support.
Help spread the wonderful news of our win and remember as we all do, especially now and as we sang it in the Brisbane City Hall when we won:
“There’s a Part of My Heart In Wonthaggi!”
I am so proud of this band and all its achievements and honored to have the opportunity to lead such a great group of people and musicians. -Cheers, Craig Marinus.

The first time our youth band has competed in 110 years was in South Street Ballarat August 2018. Thy came first in their Division. Well done all involved.

In 2016 our band showcased our captivating beaches and our bands sense of humour with a film clip to chariots of fire.
